Yesterday Extremus Bo, litter brother to Extremus Rogue and Polaris, left us to start his new life at the Mkomazi National Park in Tanzania as one of the parks Anti Poaching Dogs. Like his two brothers we trained Bo to be dual role, in that he has been trained to both track and apprehend poachers alongside his new handlers, the parks rangers. All I can say is beware poachers as this dog bites... and bites hard.
Some good news today, both Extremus Indi BRN 21038 and Resa's Home Jade BRN 27564 have both been cleared of all genetic based diseases for FCI Breed Group 1 to which the Malinois and Dutch Shepherd belongs. This also includes Clear and "no carrier" of hip laxity. This type of DNA testing is something that we intend to continue to test as a minimum for any and all of our future breeding dogs to make sure that we maintain and increase the quality of health within the UK.
A very proud day today for Extremus Dog Training Ltd and the dogs that we breed and train. Two of our dogs that we bred, raised and trained have now been successfully deployed to their chosen conservancy and have started their new life as Anti Poaching dogs looking after the parks wildlife. Honoured to have been a part of this super project. We have more dogs going over to Africa in the coming weeks.
Over the weekend I traveled to Holland to meet up with some of my Dutch friends, they offered me the chance to decoy for a KNPV display held at a large camping site. The display was to raise money for the KNPV club Phv Rurrlo. It was an honour to be asked and apart from a very sore arm afterwards I loved every minute.
